Pangas are located in the fishing village of La Playa, on the eastern edge of a coastal lagoon at the mouth of the Rio San Jose. La Playa (Puerto Los Cabos) is just minutes away from historic San Jose del Cabo. What is a panga? Unless you have fished before in Mexico you may never have heard the term. A panga is an extremely seaworthy fishing boat made of heavy duty fiberglass in combination with wood. Powered by outboard motors, pangas are fast with a cruising speed of 25 miles per hour. Pangas are used extensively throughout Baja California and are especially designed to be launched from the beach. Not all pangas are the same.
